Bill and Gail Mitchell have moved  “home” to Kentucky to open a world-class equine breeding and foaling operation, in addition to their well established training business. The Mitchells have been raising and training Quarter and Paint horses for over 45 years.  Bill was born in Lexington, KY and managed a Thoroughbred broodmare farm for many years before he and Gail were married and formed Mitchell Training Center in 1989. The excitement of the new Kentucky Breeders’ Incentive program has returned them to their beautiful homeland.  They are expanding their services and switching gears just a little to take part in the most exciting changes in the horse industry’s history……
"Kentucky Unbridled Spirit”.

The new facility in Smiths Grove has 39 acres with large pastures and several paddocks. All have Lexington style, 4-plank black fencing with automatic water in them.  There is a well-equipped breeding room including teasing chute and lab. The mare barn, which is separate from the training barn has 4 spacious foaling stalls that are 12’X24’, each equipped with cameras; night watchman is in attendance during foaling season.  New foals are haltered and taught to lead to their private paddocks with their dams daily.  Stalls are equipped with timed lighting, with many mares coming in October – November to Twin Oaks for early cycling and management for breeding.

Twin Oaks Farm is conveniently located within minutes of two outstanding equine reproduction vets: O’Brien Veterinary Hospital and Snodgrass Veterinary Medical Center both in Bowling Green. Dr Taormino serves as Twin Oaks Farm's reproduction vet and is available daily for breeding assistance

“Our commitment is to provide our clients and their horses with quality services at an affordable price.” says Bill Mitchell.  “In addition, Twin Oaks is our home, we live on premises and we strive to make the foaling-out process a joyful one for our mare owners”, further states Gail.  “Please come see us at Twin Oaks Farm.  Call us and we will leave the gate open for you!”
